Even after decades of independence the tribal population in India, is still vulnerable to basic facilities and amenities which are necessary for a sustainable livelihood. Due to lack of education and poor economic condition, a major part of rural population is forced to live a life of backwardness and ambiguity.
When analysing about the condition of women and children, around 40 to 50% of women and child population in tribal areas are suffering from various health hazards and lack of proper nutrition. Even as the country is progressing towards digitization and digital financial banking services, the women in tribal areas are still struggling to find some source of financial independence.
Similarly even when the children in urban and semi-urban areas are receiving quality education and high end health services, a large part of children in rural and tribal areas are devoid of even the basic nutrition, sufficient food and quality education.
While the world is making efforts to achieve millennium development goals of women empowerment, quality education and poverty eradication, the women and children in rural parts of India are in dire need of support to receive a life of sustainable livelihood. This is one of the alarming situation.
Manthan Sahara being a responsible and we being a responsible and vigilant organization towards women and child issues, pledge to provide our best efforts while working faithfully in direction of women empowerment and child development. Since our establishment we have ensured to work for women and children rights. We have worked for women financial independence through formation and maintenance of Self Help Groups of women rural beneficiaries.
We have conducted health camps and general hygiene awareness camps in various villages of Khargone and Barwani districts to make the rural women ware about various health and hygiene practices.
The children being the future of any prosperous country should have the best body and best minds.
We believe in this philosophy and has been serving the rural children by adopting methods for their overall health and education developments. We have been associated withChildline and has till date addressed around 1000 rural children and has helped in solving of many of their problems related to health, education, family matters, child labor.
During the tenure of our work of 2 years with Childline we have successfully rescued around 1000 children from child labor who were forced by their families to do labour work and registered them to school. Children are our major concern of work and our team makes 100 percent efforts to address the issues related to children.
Rural farmers are also been provided with various measures to increase their income. In this regard we have formed 3 FPO’s with rural farmers which focuses on capacity building and training of farmers so that they can increase their income by involving in activities such as dairy development, milk collection and processing and vegetable cropping and vegetable plantation.
